If letter grade is assigned here it is final; for all other cases it will involve RULE 2 and ADJUSTMENTS 1-3. RULE 2. Students are then groupped 'curve like' per half of standard deviation (usually 70pts). Final Letter grades are decided for the remaining non-RULE 1 students. ADJUSTMENT-1 RULE-2 students below 500 are added excess points to determine if they can be assigned a C. ADJUSTMENT-2 RULE-2 students with (< 500 pts) but with points at least 50% of top student points and an Exam 3 at MORE than 50% of top Exam3 grade also get a C even if they have < 500 pts. ADJUSTMENT-3 Students at more than 500 points use excess points provided Exam 3 grade is around the level of the Exam 3 grade of students in the upper group.
