• 04/14 PS4 The last problem set has been posted
• 04/14 Subjects 7,9,10 have been posted. We shall cover first Subject 7, then Subject 10, and after that Subject 9. On the last day of classes we may cover quickly Subject 11, but definitely a bit of Subject 12.
• 03/30 TAs (aka Assistant/Grader) Room Room update for the TA (Vladimir). It is GITC 4315. Click on the link above to find out where it is in a text MAP.
• 03/24 Midterm Class Performance Exam 2 statistics are available in Section C3. Midterm class performance based on Exam 1 and Exam 2 is also available in section C1.
• 03/24 PS3, Sub8 The third problem set, PS3 has been posted in Section C. Subject 8 will be covered before Subject 7 and has likewise been posted in section C as well.
• 03/20 Exam 2 has bee posted in section C. Solutions will be made available next week.
• 03/10 Exam 2 is scheduled for tonight. Class would resume at 8:15.
• 03/03-03/07 Info for Exam 2 Read Handout 1 (aka syllabus); logistics (eg. seating arrangements, exam numbers) same as Exam 1. Material to be covered includes Subjects 1,2,3,4, and the portion of 5 covered in class; from subject 5, quick-sort was covered but not its average case analysis. The cover page of each subject indicates the chapter/sections of textbook covered. Problem Sets 1 and 2 are useful for Exam 2 preparation; note that some problems of PS 2 are from material not covered in class yet (eg problem 6).
• 02/25 Exam 1 Statistics and solutions have been posted.
• 02/24 Miscellanea Exam 1 is available in pdf in section C. Solutions and statistics will become available by the end of this week. A Second problem set has become available. Subject 5 has been posted.
• 02/17 Exam 1 Reminder: Exam 1 is scheduled for tonight Tue 17 Feb, 2015. More info is provided in the next item. After the exam and a short break, class will resume at 7:20pm.
• 02/12 Exam 1 info Exam 1 is scheduled for next class i.e 2/17. Seating arrangements have not been updated as of now (2/12,12:14) Expect a new notice sometime around noon time on Friday (2/13). It might affect only the last row. Read Syllabus (Handout 1) for logistics re the exam. Moreover, it's open textbook if you bring a hard-copy of the designated textbook. Nothing else is allowed. Material to be tested draws from Subjects 1,2,3 that were covered in class and PS1/Handout 3/Handout 4.
• 02/10 Advance Notice There is an Exam1 scheduled for next week. Snow permitting it will be held as scheduled. Be reminded that a PS1 has already been posted in Section C. Practice with those problems of PS1 relevant to the material of Subjects 1,2,3 and also Handouts 3 and 4 as needed. The exam number assignment for Exam1 and all subsequent exams is available in Section C.1 through its second link (every row consists of an exam number, a first name, and 4 consecutive of your NJIT ID digits); seating arrangements will be posted later today or tomorrow (Wed) and will utilize this exam assignment.
• 01/26 Snow notice for Tue 01/27 NJIT already announced that there would be no classes on Tue (plus other information for Mon). Thus the class for Tue 01/27 has already been cancelled. This DOES NOT affect or alter the class schedule as announced last week. Use this opportunity to review Handouts 0-3.
• 01/23 and 01/24 Web resolved on 1/26@3pm The form in Section B might not be working properly on Friday 23 Jan, 2015. This has to do with a hardware/software update at NJIT that will become effective around Jan 27. Until this is completed (a) if you are outside of NJIT and need to use the form you must first use VPN; otherwise you will get a timeout message. (b) if you are inside NJIT or using a VPN from outside NJIT, everything should work OK now (Sat 1/24@14:58). Updates will be provided as soon as they are made available for those of you who do not use (or do not know how to use) VPN outside of NJIT. As of Mon 1/26@3pm, the form in section B has been working properly.
• 01/19 MLK Day, 01/20 Currently, as of 11:16 on Tue Jan 20, the room for the class is KUPF 106. (If you have seen a CKB classroom earlier in January or in December this has changed since then. If you see CKB 303 today this would also change as well.)
