4/19 PP clarification
The example shown in the programming project description is indicative.
Depending on the language of implementation you use (C, C++, or Java),
the data type for a real number you use (float vs double) you might be getting
slightly different results and thus you may need more (normally) iterations for
convergence even for that example, or with the same iterations different values
are output (truncated values).

4/18 Programming Project
All email messages received through
Wednesday 20 April, 12:01pm
have been acknowledged. Pay attention to Handout 2 and acceptable archive formats
(zip or tar only).

4/19 (15:20) and 4/18 NJIT Web page services
As of now (4/19,15:20) the redirects are working fine.
As you already know NJIT Computing Services had a power outage due to a
power line failure.
The web-page services have been operable since sometime on Friday Apr 15.
However redirects might not be (and as of now, are not) working properly.
The purpose of Handout 0 (item 4) was to alert you on this
possibility (redirects not working) and how
one can still access the operable course web-page.

The Programming Project is due BEFORE NOON next Wed, Apr 20, 2016. Read Handout 2 before you
submit to avoid problems.

4/6 PS4 and Subject 9
The fourth and final problem set has been posted. Subject 9 is available.

3/23 PS3 and Subjects
The third PS with solutions is now available in Section C. Subject 8 (Graph Algorithms)
has been posted in Section C. Subject 8 is to be covered before Subject 7 (Hashing).

3/9 Midterm
The exam has been posted on the Web.
Statistics for the midterm are also available in the Statistics Section, of Section C.
A Midterm Performance guidance is available through section C.1.a; it is based on Exam1
and Exam 2 only.
Sample solutions for some problems would become at the end of this week.

2/24 Midterm Exam (i.e. Exam 2)
It is scheduled per calendar info for Wed Mar 2. Duration is 2hrs. Open textbook.
See Handout 1 (Syllabus). Logistics similar to Exam 1. Seating arrangements
per Section C.1.b as in Exam 1. It covers what happened in class since the first day of classes
through Wed Feb 24, and it includes Subjects 1,2,3,4,5 (but not the linear
time sorting part of Subject 5). Textbook-wise it is Chapters 1,2,4,5, and 9.3; see
the cover page of the corresponding Subject and also section C.6. Class will resume at 8:15pm
next week, after the exam.

2/17 (revised) PS 2, Exam1, Subjects
Several Subjects have been posted in advance. PS2 is now available as is Exam1.
Statistics for Exam1 are available in Section C.4. The Exam will be returned
after 7:35 tonight. Note that the midterm is in two weeks.

2/4 Exam1 of Feb 10
is open textbook as specified in the syllabus, page 1, section Exams.
Only material already covered in class is in the exam; not all problems
of Problem Set 1 are relevant. You may get some ideas on what to expect from
some past exams. Note that content changes from year to year (snow closures).

2/3 Exam Seating Arrangement
It is available in section C.1.b.

information is now available under "Course information" appearing prior to Section A.

1/27 Verification of Presence follow-up
Two of the students in the class who are in the official class roster did not sign the
sign-up list last Wed. Please contact by email the instructors as soon as possible.
There is one student who signed the sign up list but IS NOT in the roster. Double check
whether you are registered and ATTEND the same section of CS 610. Note: there are two section
running on Wed evening, in the same building!
