• PrP aka Programming-Project All submissions received through and before 4/18 Tue @ 12:01 have been aknowledged by the instructor. Note that you won't be told if your submission is compliant to Handout 2 requirements.
• (4/17) Reminder 3: The Programming Project is due before noon tomorrow, Tuesday April 18! Make sure that you read Handout 2 before you submit. The two email addresses (instructor and grader) both end in cs610. So pay attention to it or your submission will get misplaced in mailboxes that would be quite busy this week. We do recordkeeping based on what goes into ...+cs610@njit.edu.
• (4/12) Clarification Re PrP On page 3 of PrP (option 2) there is a "authority/hub/PageRank values have been computed (and values scaled)" that could be read that one could need to scale PageRank values. This is not so. Only hub/auth values need to be scaled as explained in class. The proper way to read this phrase is "authority/hub/PageRank values have been computed (and auth/hub values scaled)".
• (4/11) Reminder 2: The Programming Project is due before noon (next Tue) April 18!
• (3/28) PS5 has been posted.
• (3/20) Monday network connectivity issues Today Monday Mar 20 (as of now 9:58), my network connectivity (from the office) is almost non-existent. I CANNOT read email (webmail) or connect to basic NJIT services or to the outside. Access to the course web-page is however, possible (at least from inside NJIT/GITC). So if you send me an email be patient, I will respond as soon as possible, but first I need to read my email! Access was restored at 10:06am, ignore this message!
• (3/14) Exam 2 and Midterm Class Performance The first round of Exam 2 grading has been completed. Preliminary Exam 2 statistics are available in section C. These might change but not significantly. Moreover in Section C.1 you may find midterm class performance based on the two available metrics (exam1 and exam2 roughly contributing 53-54% of the class grade). Exams (or more exam info) will be handed back in class around 7:35pm next Tue.
• (3/7) Subjects and PS Problem Set 4 has been posted but it will be covered after the break. Subject 7 and Subject 8 have been posted.
• (3/3) Grading of Exam2 Exam2 grading won't be completed before class on Tuesday. Therefore the exam will be made available immediately after the (Spring) break.
• (2/21) Exam2 It will cover material from Subjects 1,2,3,4,5 and the corresponding chapters of the textbook as shown in Section C6. Note that from Subject 5 linear-time sorting is not in the exam. PS1, PS2, and PS3 (non graph-algorithm related material) are also relevant.
• (2/14) Exam1 The exam has been posted. Statistics have been made available. It will be returned during the break tonight. Solutions will be posted later this week.
• (2/7) PS3's posting will get delayed by a week. That is it will be posted around Feb 21.
• (2/2) Exam 1 Handout 3, PS 1, PS2 (but only Problem 1), Subject 1 (i.e. Chapters 1 and 4.1 of GT), Subject 3 (Chapters 1 and 5.2 of GT) are in the exam. This includes the master method but not yet the substitution or the iteration method. Everything thus covered in class so far is in the exam.
• (1/30) Exam Numbers and Seating Arrangements The Exams are numbered; your exam number can be obtained from section C1.b. Seating arrangements based on exam numbers will be posted around Feb 1, 2017 (link C1.b will be updated).
• (1/30) PS2 is available in Section C.
• 1/17 Section C: Problem Set 1, Subjects 1, 2, 3 PS1 with solutions has been posted in the protected area, section C.2. Moreover Subjects 1, 2, and 3 have also become available in Section C.6.
• First Class It is scheduled for Tue Jan 17@6pm.
