Past Announcements

• Subject 11 and 12 (4/24) The last two subjects have been posted. Subject 11 was not covered in class.
• MP (4/17) As of (12:05) five minutes past noon there are some PrP that might be missing from the system (moodle). For late submissions email the submission to both the instructor and the grader (email at the top of this page or the syllabus).
• Subjects 9 and 10 and PS6 (4/10) Subjects 9 and 10 have been posted in section C. The last problem set, PS6 has also been posted.
• PS5 (3/27) PS 5 has been posted.
• Subjects 1-8, PS 1-4 (3/20) A reminder that as of today, all subjects 1-8 have been posted, and so have all PS 1-4.
• Exam 2 graded (3/19) The exam has been graded and will be returned around 7:35pm on Mar 20. Statistics are available in Section C. Midterm class performance (rough letter grade equivalent) is available also in Section C.
• Exam 2 grading, PS4, etc (3/02) Exam 2 is being graded. It will be returned immediately after the break. A copy is available in section C. Moreover, a fourth PS has been posted. I might split the fifth PS into a PS5 and PS6 to separate the different topics that will be covered in the remainder of the semester. Sometime after the break section C.1 will be populated with midterm class performance, and C.4 with Exam 2 statistics.
• Preparatory for the Midterm Exam of Feb 27 (2/20) The midterm exam (Exam 2) is scheduled for next class. Read Handout 1 for logistical information. It will be based on Subjects 1,2,3,4, and 5 (QuickSort related). This roughly also draws from PS 1,2, and 3. For textbook GT material, use the info provided on the cover page of a subject or that available in Section C.6 of the protected area. After 8:15pm of the exam day (Tue) a lecture will take place.
• Subjects (2/12) Additional subjects have been posted in Section C, as well as a third Homework.
• Exam 1 related (2/08) Exam 1 has been posted in Section C.2. Statistics are also available in Section C.4.
• 2nd Reminder Exam 1 (1/31) Be reminded that Exam 1 will cover all material from Subject 1 plus the material from Subject 2 covered in class on Tue 1/30. The corresponding chapters of the textbook are shown in Section C.6. next to the Subjects.
• Reminder Exam 1 (1/30) Be reminded Exam 1 is coming next week.
• PS2 (1/30) has been posted in Section C.
• Exam Seating Arrangments (1/30) They have been posted in section C.1.b. Based on few digits of your NJIT ID, and some characters of your first name (according to NJIT, not you!) find your exam number and then your seating position.
• Verification of Presence (1/18 at 12:30) The information i got through the signup list handed out in class yesterday was inserted into Banner. If you observe any discrepancy let me know. If you missed the first class and you did not sign up (and you did not contact me by email) do so as soon as possible.
• Handouts 0 and 1, MiniProject, Subjects 1-3, Problem Set with Solutions Handout 0 (FAQ), Handout 1 (Syllabus), and few more are available through Section B of this page. The hardcopy of Handout 0 to be handed out in class contains a password missing from the online copy. The MiniProject is available in Section B as well. It is due more than 3 months after the first class, but familiarize with it and some of its trivial requirements (command line processing, file-based I/O binary or text) and those of Handout 2 (Programming Guidelines). In the password protected Section C, you may also find after 6pm on this coming Tuesday, Subjects 1-3 the material we will be covering from the designated textbook (but not in the order of the textbook), along with a practice Problem Set.
