As of the fall 2007 semester the school of management offers students three options to fulfill their
SS 201 general university requirement. One may take the course in a traditional classroom setting, as a
hybrid course, or as a
distance learning course.
For those who choose a hybrid section, it will
involve on-campus workshops on alternate Fridays with distance learning interactions.
The times of the workshops are: day sections, 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.; evening sections, 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
All workshops are on Fridays, so keep this day open throughout the semester.
The distance learning sections of SS 201 do not have any required workshops,
all course interactions are on the WebCT interface. A student that chooses a distance learning
section must be very self-disciplined; a student must be willing and able to take the initiative
to do independent study. There is a $65 distance learning fee charged by the univeristy.
For both the hybrid and distance learning courses there will be numerous homework assignments throughout the semester
as well as a mid-term and final examination. All exams will be on campus, on a Friday.
