book must be read for the material covered each time in class and make sure that solved
problems are understood.

Tuesdays 10:00 a.m. to 11:25 a.m.
Grade Policy: Homework and Quizzes 65% (total seven of them
- best Five scores for the 65% - grade)
Final Exam 35%
Make
up: No makeup, except for
extenuating circumstances such as illness, death in the family, etc. and proof is required
(doctors excuse from class, etc.).
Home works are due the class following the one in which it was assigned. Solutions to the
homework assignments are given in the beginning of the class when the assignment is due.
Hence, students must hand in their homework as soon as they enter the class. Late homework
cannot be accepted as there is a solution already floating around. Solution to homework
can be handed in early at the Math main office Cullimore Hall sixth floor 606, dated and
timed by the administrative assistant receiving it.

Class Rules, Department and University policies: Please note
that all the rules noted below is for the proper running of our course. Please cooperate
with instructors to help implement these rules.

freshmen and sophomore
- Any
complaints regarding grading have to be presented right away after the return of the
tests. A certain number of exams from each section are photocopied and stored, before
being returned, for official record purposes.
- You
must remain in the exam room for the entire test period (No Exceptions).
- Any
one arriving more than 5 minutes after the exam starts will not be allowed in the exam
room.
- Please,
always bring a statistics calculator to your quizzes, exams and to all the lectures.
- Looking
into your neighbors work during exams is not allowed. Hats, caps, etc., that keep
the eyes hidden from the proctor but not from the neighbors work during exams are not
allowed.
- Department
policy recommends that students refresh themselves before the exam time starts. You may
not be allowed to refresh yourself during exam hours.
- There
will be no make-up tests, quizzes or homework. Late homework is not acceptable. In case of
an extenuating circumstance such as illness, etc., proof that can confirm the excuse is
genuine must be produced.
- Attendance
at all classes and tests is required. Instructors will maintain a detailed record of your
attendance, as the administrators need to know the dates you missed classes.
- The
use of cell phones; beepers, etc are not allowed under any circumstances. During exams any
sort of communication devices (with internet access, palm pilot, etc) are not allowed.
- Eating
during the class and exams periods is not allowed. You are expected to remain in the
classroom for the entire class period. Wandering in and out of the classroom is
discouraged.

Only simple calculators, with no graphing capabilities and which cannot store
formulas or notes, are allowed in exams.
