HP 4140B pA meter/DC voltage source comprises a high stability pA meter with 10^-15A(max). Resolution coupled with two programmable DC voltage sources to ensure usability in many applications areas. The HP4140B uses a new unique, variable, digital, integration method. This method is very useful, not only for the measurement of the small leakage currents of semiconductor devices and static characteristic of FETs but also for making insulation resistance, leakage current, absorption, measurements, analysis of capacitance and isolation materials.
A key capability of the 4140B is its ability to make accurate (I-V)/C-V) measurements. The 4140B measures capacitance values by the relation:

The 4140B provides analog output which can be used to output analog data to an X-Y recorder and to trace (I-V)/(C-V) curves. The 4140B also provides HPIB interface for remote control and data output the HP-IB.
