(Or I might read it in July.)
Your project
should have a nice looking cover page.
Include your
name, the name and number of the class, the words “Project 1”
and the due date on the cover page.
Did I mention
that the cover page should be nice looking?
All answers
should be typed, in your best English, without spelling errors and with your
best grammar.
======================================
Points are in [].
1) DOWNLOADS
a) Download CliniClue and load the newest version of SNOMED
into CliniClue.
http://www.cliniclue.com/software
This is a
multi-step process. First you get the tool. Then you get the
license key. Then you download the SNOMED data.
Then you load the
data into the tool. The
necessary steps are reasonably
well documented.
Show a screen
dump of CliniClue how it looks when you start it
up. [5]
b) Obtain a
license of the UTS. Log
in. Show a screen dump of
how UTS looks when you start it up, after you log in. [5]
https://uts.nlm.nih.gov//license.html
NOTE: It can take
minutes to get the license, or it can take 2 or 3 days. So plan for the worst.
c) Log into the
NAT, using the full version.
Use your UTS
password. Show a screen dump of how the NAT looks when you start it up, after
you log in. [5]
d) Sign up for a
Practice Fusion account at
https://pfws.practicefusion.com/apps/ehr/main.html?signup=true
DON’T WORRY about all the questions concerning your medical specialty.
I have personally received an assurance by phone and email that STUDENTS are allowed to sign up and get an account.
Show a screen dump of Practice Fusion after you installed it and after you logged in. [5]
WE WILL USE THESE SYSTEMS IN PROJECT 2. So not getting them means getting no credit on Project 2.
2) MOODLE
For those students who still have the standard smiley Moodle image I will take off 5 points from the project grade.
3) WEB RESEARCH AND REPORT WRITING
I will email to every one of you personally the names of two EMR systems. No two students will get exactly the same two names. To avoid collaboration. NO collaboration is allowed on this project.
Your assignment is as follows:
Imagine you are working for a hospital. The hospital administrator wants to buy an EMR system. She has narrowed
down the choices to those two systems that I will email you. She wants your advice which system to buy.
Write a two page report (double-space, 11pt, Times New Roman font, standard left/right/top/bottom marings) + a reference lists on a separate page, comparing the two systems. You should come up with a recommendation which of the two systems to buy.
I will take points off for any careless errors, such as spelling errors marked by MS Word with a red underline, or sentences that have no subject or no predicate or just end in the middle. (Of course MS Word will mark names that it does not know and of course I will not take points off for those.)
The reference list may consist of URLs. Reference should be numbered [1], [2], etc.
In the text (your writing) you need to indicate from where you get your information by placing a corresponding
[1], [2] at the end of the relevant sentences.
