CS 639                                                                                                                        Summer 2012

Project 2

Due Date: 7/19/2012  10:00pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time

Points: 53

Your project needs to be submitted as an email message to me with

an MS WORD file or PDF file attachment.

Make sure your email has the subject CS 639 Project 1.

(Or I might read it in September.)

Your project should have a nice looking cover page.

Include your name, the name and number of the class, the words “Project 2”

and the due date on the cover page.

Did I mention that the cover page should be nice looking?

All answers should be typed, in your best English, without spelling errors and with your best grammar.

Take into account my comments that I gave you on the first project.

For example, for every answer it should be clear what question it goes with.

Many of you did this, but some of you did not.

Making the same mistake twice is not recommended.

Points are in [].

1) Go into the NAT.  [11 * 2 points]

a. Type into the search window:

aspergillus

Make the first returned value the focus concept. Show a screen dump of this page.

c. What is the semantic type of aspergillus?

d. Using Control-C and Control-V copy the definition of aspergillus into your

e. How many children does aspergillus have?

f. How many grandchildren does aspergillus have? (NOT: children and grandchildren;

only grandchildren)

g. Compare what you read in "d." with what you answered in "e." Does that strike

you as strange?  What could be the reason for this difference? [This is a research

question. Or a guessing question. You cannot know the answer. So don't worry

too much about it.]

h. Look at the first child of Aspergillus.

Double click on the focus window, which allows you to copy and paste with

Control-C, Control-V.

Now go to the Website eol.org.

In the search window paste the name of the first child.

Do the search.

SHOW a screen dump of this page.

i.  You will see a list of parents under "Found in 2 classifications".

They are shown by indentation. Parents are less indented than children.

Go to the grandparent in that list of eol.org.

k. Click on the Resources Tab. What is ITIS?

2) Go to UTS. Repeat Question 1) a. b. c. e. in the UTS.

3) Go to CliniClue.  [2 * 2 points]

a. Repeat Question 1) a. in UTS. That means, show a screen dump.
