This is an attempt at my version of
Greatest Songs of All Times.
Alas, this list changes almost daily
in the lower ranks. The top is pretty
settled by now. These are songs that
are still grabbing me. Even after having
heard them hundreds of times.

1. The Clash: London Calling
2. The Beatles: I am the Walrus
3. The Beatles: Lady Madonna
4. The Smiths: When is Now?

7. The Who: I can see for Miles
8. XTC: Making Plans for Nigel

7. ... I can't remember .... I am getting old
8. ... I can't remember .... I am getting old

Honorable Mention:
(Means they did one great song, and nothing else.)
This is potentially a much longer list.

1. Lucious Jackson (Naked eyes)
2. Morcheeba (By the sea)
3. Nick Lowe (Cruel to be kind)
4. Catatonia (Being Welsh?)
5. Cardigans
6. P.O.D. (Youth of the nation)
7. Puddle of Mud (Blurry)
8. Boston (Don't look back) [How did that get in here?]

It's Embarrassing but I don't Care.
They did some good songs. And some terrible ones.
I am not trying to be cool. But somehow I cannot
rank them in what I consider my "main stream."

1. Britney Spears (Toxic, ...)
2. Christina Aguilerra (Beautiful)
3. Beyonce
4. TATU
5. Madonna (Into the groove,...)
6. Shania Twain

I have no allegiance to any band. A band is great
if it has many great songs. That's why Oasis and
Garbage are great bands, even though none of their songs
made it into the top 10 songs. And that's why Republica
is listed in my top 10 songs of all times, but not
as a top band.

That's why I love "The Stranger" by Billy Joel which
has practically only perfect songs, but no other record
by Billy Joel.
