Enrollments of truly “distance” students not as easy/ fast/ large as anticipated
- Only 50 completely DL matriculations by end of 3 years; half what is needed to break even
Large and continuing capital investment needed: conferencing software lease and maintenance, dial in ports, equipment for students, additional prep time for faculty, “candid classroom” facilities
Estimated course production cost: $5000 for videotaping in Candid Classroom; two summer months for faculty member (about $15,000 on average in US)
