...................................................................... Flattening the PRC: Inhibitory feedback to pacemaker neurons promotes oscillation stability NJIT / Rutgers Using mathematical modeling, we demonstrate potential mechanisms through which inhibitory feedback to pacemaker neurons may act to decrease the oscillation variability. Our modeling results suggest that the increase in oscillation stability in the presence of feedback synapse is due to the nature of the response of the pacemakers to the feedback synapse. This response can be captured in a "synaptic PRC" which characterizes the oscillator response to the phase and duty cycle of the feedback synapse.
