Changes in either the pH or pE of a natural body of water will have various effects on the biota and the overall condition of the lake or river. Give examples of such situations, including a discussion of the chemistry involved in the changes. Look at the extended consequences where possible. As usual, comment on the postings, adding to their completeness.
Look for sites on the Internet which discuss water quality. Rate these sites as to the completeness, accuracy and clarity of the information given. Post these to our discussion page with URLs and your discussions. Look at the sites proposed by your colleagues and see if you agree or disagree with their evaluations. Be sure to add your agreement or disagreements to the discussion.
