You should select a topic for your term paper on the general topic of: Chemistry applied to the remediation of an environmental problem. It should address a specific problem, as well as a specific technological approach to the remediation of that problem. You may mention more than one technology available or suitable for application to your selected problem, but should treat one technological process in detail, with emphasis on the chemistry involved. You are expected to use several references, including some journal articles. It should be approximately 10-15 pages in length, typed, and written in good professional style.
The proposal will be a short paragraph describing the topic--the problem and the technology to be used. I will inform you by the following week if the topic is acceptable (not too narrow or too broad, or too duplicative of another student's report.
