*TALK*: Tiernan 407, 11am - Noon

(* SPECIAL TIME/ROOM and NO TEA TIME *)

*HOLIDAY LUNCH*: Tiernan 406, from Noon

Recent advances in near infrared technologies have enabled members of the CSTR-Upper Atmospheric Aeronomy Group to make new observations in a variety of arenas.  These exciting, first-light results are the subject of multiple talks and papers currently in progress.  In this talk, I will present a summary of these achievements for the lay-person, ON BEHALF of the group in an effort to advertise their successes and reaffirm “fundamental instrument development” as the key component in progressing science.  I will also discuss the incoming 20-cm Fabry-Perot Interferometer [FPI], who’s plates/housing themselves weigh 45 lbs, en route to NJIT in February 2024, and discuss what we will be measuring with this system.  As far as we know, this will be the “Largest FPI in the World,” as led by NJIT!
