andrew klobucar, assistant professor of english at new jersey institute of technology in newark, is a literary theorist and teacher, specialising in electronic and programmable writing.

current critical work and scholarship continues to focus on important cultural, political and economic correlations between technology and aesthetics. For over a decade, his published writings on experimental literary forms and genres have sought to analyze the increasingly important role technology (especially with respect to media and communication) plays in contemporary cultural practices - whether in print or on screen.

extending beyond the literary arts and directly into the fields of pedagogy and writing, such enquries focus also on the rapid technological and institutional development of the classroom itself as a new electronic environment. to this end, klobucar has worked specifically on software for writing instruction and written on the use of programmable media in classroom instruction. recent projects with njit and princeton's educational testing services (ets) have sought to interrogate and analyze the use of automated assessment software for reliable academic placement.

he holds a phd in english from the university of bc in vancouver, canada.
