Highlander Active Leadership Organization (HALO)
The Highlander Active Leadership Organization (HALO) is part of the Integrated Leadership Education And Development (ILEAD) Project at NJIT
HALO acts as a clearinghouse for leadership information as well as a source for students to become aware of and work on all aspects of leadership. HALO is open to all students that are interested in learning more about leadership and followership. By working with professors, administrators, and staff throughout the NJIT community, students will be exposed to various leadership styles and situations while becoming more familiar with how to lead. In addition, over time, HALO members will learn ways to improve their own abilities and become more active leaders.
An important part of HALO is the Speak With A Professor (SWAP) program. This allows for students to sit, share and informally speak with faculty members about any topic and gain insights into a wide variety of topics. SWAP is a way for students to ask for help or just discuss ideas in a less formal setting than a class. At the same time, it provides an opportunity for faculty to become more involved in the NJIT community and share their depth of knowledge and wealth of experiences with interested students. These SWAP sessions will be help regularly in the Highlander Pub.
