Send me WWW Email. Dr Meegoda's research can be best described
as Mechanics of Geo-environmental Engineering where he utilizes scientific
concepts and engineering technologies in real world applications. He used
several scientific concepts and engineering technologies to contribute to his
profession. He set up the centrifugal testing laboratory and the
asphalt-testing laboratory for his research. He was one of the main players in
writing the proposal, setting-up and extensive use NSF sponsored NJIT
State-of-the-art Geo-environmental laboratory. Under the heading of Mechanics
of Geo-environmental Engineering Dr. Meegoda's research can be further
subdivided into six main trust areas as shown below. Three hour short course
on Asphalt Technology to Engineers of Liaoning Provincial High Grade Highway
Construction Engineers, Three hour workshop on
Use of Petroleum Contaminated Soils in Construction at Two month training course
on Material Testing for Highway Construction, The Department of Highway
Administration, The Ministry of Communications, The Peoples Republic of Three hour short course
on Design and construction of Asphalt Pavements, Construction Supervisor
Training Course, Xinjiang Highway Construction group, offered by Louis Berger,
NJ, January 1998 and March 1999. One day USEPA Seminar
on Two month training
course on Highway Construction and Management, The Department of Highway
Administration, The Ministry of Communications, The Peoples Republic of Two day Short course on
"Soil Remediation Technologies" held on August, 25-26, 2000 and on
May 4-5, 2001 at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Two day Short course on
“Foundation Designs" held on November 29-30, 2002 at Hong Kong University
of Science and Technology, One month training
course on Expressway Management and Operation to International Financial
Institutions Loan Project Office, Hebei Provincial Communication Department,
PRC, funded by the Asian Development Bank, February-March 2002. Two day Short course on
"Soil Remediation Technologies" held on March 19-20, 2005 at One day short Course on
“Soil and Sediment Remediation Technologies”, Two-day short course on
“Hydraulic Conductivity and Seepage,” One day short Course on
“Flow Through Soils”, One day short Course on
“Soil and Sediment Remediation Technologies”, Dr. Meegoda has over one hundred publications
in journals, books and proceedings. Bulk of his refereed papers appeared in
ASCE, ASTM and TRB journals and special technical publications, which are
