Ten-Tesla Magnet Set-Up at X23B

The custom designed 10 T magnet was  built to  perform XAS and MXCD experiments and operate in NSLS steel hutches.

With a variable temperature insert (VTI), samples can be measured with B normal or parallel to the x-ray beam direction for 

fields from 0 to 10 T  and over the temperature range  1.6  to 300 K.   A second VTI allows for simultaneous optical and x-ray 

access for laser excitation/probing of samples in magnetic field..   A brief series of set-up snap-shots are shown in Figs. 1-9.
