In Figs. 1(a) to 1(c).  Kester and Jonathan are show weighing YBCO starting materials, grinding the combined powders and initiating the solid state reaction process by placing the sample in a high temperature furnace. In Figure 1(d) the sample is loaded into the diffractometer for x-ray measurements.
