A joint postdoc position at Arizona State University, the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and the US Army Research Laboratory in the area of secure and authentic communications, is available immediately. The successful candidate will be working with the research groups of Prof. Oliver Kosut and Prof. Joerg Kliewer in collaboration with the US Army Research Laboratory.

Specific topics of focus are secret key establishment and management in austere communication environments consisting of both traditional and quantum channels, where both practical aspects and a fundamental information-theoretic understanding will be considered.

The appointment will be for a period of two years. We are looking for strong applicants with an excellent theoretical background and a proven capacity for high-quality research in form of a strong publication record. The Elisha Yegal Bar-Ness Center for Wireless Communications and Signal Processing Research at NJIT is looking for a highly-qualified postdoctoral researcher in the areas of coding and information theory, starting January 1, 2015. Strong applicants with an excellent theoretical background and a proven capacity for high-quality research are solicited in the broad areas of graph-based coding theory, polar codes, their applications (e.g., low complexity codes, coding for storage, control, or secrecy), and network information theory.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or be close to completion) in electrical engineering or a related field (such as mathematics or statistics). The initial appointment will be for 12 months. Compensation will be competitive and applications are requested by September 30, 2014 or until the position is filled.
