Wu is Interim Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the Ying Wu College of Computing and an Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics at New Jersey Institute of Technology.

She received an M.S. in Information Resources Management in 1996 from Syracuse University and a Ph.D. in Information Science in 2001 from State University of New York at Albany.

Her current research interests include: text mining, information extraction, knowledge organization, information retrieval, and natural language processing.
