Community Design Centers Overview

Community Design Centers provide design and other technical assistance to nonprofit organizations involved in community development, including those who provide affordable housing. Some centers are university-affiliated, some are freestanding; all are committed to improving neighborhoods through well-designed, high quality community-based development. If there is a community design center anywhere near a proposed affordable housing development, it should be contacted as early as possible in the design/development process.

Contact the Association for Community Development for a list of community design centers nationwide.
