A. Announcements

• 05/15 and 05/18 Final Exam Grading The grading of the final exam has been completed. Letter grades have been inserted into Banner.
• 04/30@17:28, 05/06@16:42, 05/07@14:00, 05/08@23:00 Grading If you still have not received an email from Vladimir please do the following: (a) check again your email for a May 8 email from him, (b) check the email of your submission and double check that you sent that email BOTH to the instructor AND the TA/grader/Assistant (Vladimir). If this does not resolve the grade receipt issue, send an email both to the instructor AND the grader. (The grader will report with comments, the instructor will only confirm or report a grade relative to the grade of another exam.)
• 04/29 Office Hours The office hours to be observed over the next two weeks are available through the link Office hours Spring 2015 at the top of this page. Some additional office hours are going to be announced for after May 13.
• FINAL EXAM INFORMATION The CS 610 final exam (that is, EXAM 3) is scheduled for Tuesday May 12 at the classroom used for lectures. The exam will commence by 6:05pm. Seating arrangements are those used in Exam 1 and 2. The duration is 2 hours and the exam is worth 333 points. Details about the logistics of the exam are in Handout 1. Summarizing, this is an open textbook exam; if you don't bring your own hard-copy, then you will not be allowed to borrow a fellow student's hardcopy of the textbook; no electronic copies. If the exam date changes for any reason, this announcement will show this new information.

  MAKE SURE THAT YOU SWITCH OFF ALL MOBILE DEVICES (CELL/MOBILE PHONES,COMPUTERS, DIGITAL PORTABLE DEVICES) before entering the EXAM ROOM. The material that will be covered includes (more details at the beginning of every online available subject) Subject 1 all the way through and including Subject 12. For Subject 9, only the material covered in class re the performance of the various algorithms may be examined. For Subject 11, specific questions on operations on B-trees and (a,b)-trees or 2,3,4 trees in particular won't be addressed in the exam. For Subject 12 definitions re poly-time, decision vs optimization problems, and inclusion to classes P or NP may only be examined. Text-book (GT) wise, this material is covered in Chapters 1-7, and the outline/conclusions of Chapter 13. More detailed information is available on the front of each Subject that summarizes the material covered in class.

• 04/28 PP Grading continues and has not been completed yet. An information update will take place on Thu Apr 30.
• 04/20 PP All submissions received through Tue Apr 21, noon have been acknowledged. The instructor double-checked his ack records and might have sent one or two of you a duplicate acknowledgement. Other than that, all of you who sent an email re PP that was received by the instructor should have received an ack from him.
• 04/16 Last day of classes for CS610-102 is Tue April 28th; last day of NJIT classes is Wed May 6 Note that the last day of classes for a Tue class is April 28th. Tue May 5 was to follow a Friday schedule and be the last day of classes. Because of the snow situation it would still follow a Friday schedule and Wed May 6 would follow a Monday schedule. Thus the last day of classes for our CS610-102 section is Tue April 28th. We have completed the 12th class and there are two more classes left, a one week break, followed by the final exam on May 12th (which is the fifteenth meeting of the semester) as also noted at Final Exam Schedule (Registrar).
