The File menu located on the MAP VIEW tab offers several options for importing maps into the built in Plotman display window.

1. Import FITS map from file: This menu entry exposes a list of standard SSW routines that may be called to import individual maps or map cubes from map FITS files adequately formatted.
2. Import MAP structure from file: This menu entry allows the user to restore a SSW map structure or SSW map object from an IDL sav file

The user may start a magnetic field extrapolation project by importing a region of interest map containing a event-related image such as an X-ray map first, before importing the magnetic field map.  The advantage of this is that after importing the event-related image one can select "GET FOV FROM CURRENT MAP" in order to apply that region of interest (field of view) to the magnetic field map during import.
