Guiling (Grace) Wang, PhD, CFA



Grace is currently a professor of the Yingwu College of Computing. She also holds a joint appointment at the Martin Tuchman School of Management. She joined NJIT in 2006 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2011. She was promoted to full professor in 2016 in her 30s. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering and a minor in Statistics from The Pennsylvania State University in 2006. She received her B.S. in Software from Nankai University in China. Her research in intelligent transportation, applied deep learning, blockchain technologies,and mobile computing has been highly recognized in the field and cited for over 4000 times by research articles according to Google Scholar.

  • 05/2019: Our paper “Learning K-way D-dimensional Discrete Embedding for Hierarchical Data Visualization and Retrieval” has been accepted for publication in the proceedings of IJCAI 2019. Good job, Xiaoyuan!
  • 04/2019: Xiaoyuan accepted the offer of Facebook and will join the Machine Learning group as a Research Scientist this summer. Congratulations to both Xiaoyuan and FB! 😊

  • 12/2018: Our paper on passenger demand prediction using deep neural network is accepted by SDM 2019. Good job, Xiaoyuan!
  • 09/2018: Our NSF EAGER proposal on Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Evaluation Platform is funded.
  • 07/2018: Grace presented a paper about blockchain’s application on crowdsourcing at ICDCS 2018 at Vienna, Austria.

To prospective PhD/Master students:
