Previous Research Focus

During the first cell division in the C. elegans, the centrosomes align themselves along the AP axis. The centrosomes then move along the AP axis towards the posterior end. As it moves towards the AP axis, oscillations in the transverse direciton have been observed. Pat of the modelling process for studying this motion is determing which forces to include in the model.
I was studying the effect of pulling forces from cortical dyenin on the motion of centrosomes. I focused on the the linearized dynamics for different interaction dyamics for motors. In the simplest case, the motors don't overlap. The second case modified the probability to account for the possiblity of motors overlapping. The final case involved motors being stacked on top of each other.

Current Research Focus

I am studying another model that includes anti-parallel forces and other forces. I want to to see the effect of these other forces to see if they change the qualitative behavior of the centrosomes.

Have a nice day.
