  • Project: Ground states for an interaction kernel functional

    Companion paper: Approximate global minimizers to pairwise interaction problems via convex relaxation
    Description: Solves a convex relaxation of the Helmholtz functional (which is a large deviations rate function for the Boltzmann distribution) in one spatial dimension. Solution consists of (i) the optimal autocorrelation (cf. pair correlation function); and (ii) a decomposition of the interaction potential into optimal dual variables consisting of a nonnegative function, a function with nonnegative Fourier modes and a constant.
