Application Instructions

Please follow these steps to prepare your application.

1. Browse the faculty mentors and projects to determine choice of project area, optical communication and networking, optical and photonic devices, or optical systems.
2. Complete the application form. ( [pdf] )
3. Provide a one page statement describing your career goals, how this experience will enhance those goals, and your qualifications for participating in the REU program.
4. Submit your resume which includes information on classes taken, research/work experience, list of references, and any other relevant information.
5. A copy of your transcripts. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable.
6. We require at least one letter of recommendation, preferably from a faculty member in your major. Faculty should submit these letters directly to abdallah@njit.edu.

To submit your application, please scan all documents and attach to an email addressed to abdallah@njit.edu. You should receive a confirmation email within 3-5 working days.
