About us

We are offering a summer research program for qualified undergraduate students. This is an exciting opportunity to work with emerging technologies and working with leading researchers in the field. This is a 10 week on-campus residential program. Besides working on cutting-edge research, you will get to experience the social and cultural life of Newark through organized events, and connect with students from all across the country. This is an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on optics and photonics technologies. Funding for this project is provided by National Science Foundation (NSF) REU Program.

Why participate?

Through this program, you will gain experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of a research project, as well as develop your knowledge of opportunities within optics and photonics. In addition, each participant will receive:

  • A $4,500 stipend
  • On-campus housing and meals provided as needed
  • Travel expenses to and from REU Site
