PA 5 extension New due date: Apr 19.
Email Tuesday April 12 Email sent to alg435@cs.njit.edu might be
experiencing problems this morning because of workstation maintenance. Be patient!
Due dates PA4 and PA5 In Handout 2 i mistakenly indicate
a PA 6. There are only 5 PA's that have already been posted. Accordingly,
I extend the due dates for PA4 and PA5. PA 4 can be turned in BY APRIL 5,
and PA 5 BY APRIL 12. The previous dates of Mar 22 and April 5 respectively
can be ignored.
Midterm Course Performance As soon as you come back to class
after the break, the graded Exam 2 will be returned to you. You can inspect your graded
work for one week; after that you must return it to us; you can make photocopies of it
if you so wish.
At the same time
in the protected area of the Web-page we will post some information to indicate
your performance in this class. It will be based on Exam 1 and Exam 2 only and not
on the homeworks.
HomeWork HH For Honors Students has become available.
Midterm Exam (Exam 2) is to be held as scheduled.
As of now, (2:35pm, Tue Mar 8) the University is open for business as usual.
Exam 2 Exam 2 is on this coming Tuesday (Mar 8, 2005). Open textbook only.
2hrs for 350 points. Bring your own copy of the textbook; you are not allowed to borrow
a copy from a fellow student. For those who missed class last Week, all
material up to and including quicksort is in the exam. This also covers the
relevant appendices. In detail: Chapters 1,2,3,4,6,7,10, and 16.3. Appendices
A,B,C, are Math 226 related.
Tue Mar 1, 2005 Regular schedule is followed. Note that
Homework HH for Honors Students is out. Every other student is encouraged
to try it.
Reminder Read carefully Handout 3 (Course Policies section
Collaboration). If you collect solutions of homeworks and programming
assignments through the Internet (eg. pay someone to do the work for you
through RentAcoder.com for example) you violate course policies,
and you will fail the course anyway because you don't know how to solve
the homeworks. Read also the section Final Grade of Handout 3; if your
performance in the homeworks is inconsistent with your performance in the
Exams the instructor reserves the right to ignore the homeworks.
Note also that the course handouts is Copyrighted material. So is the
material in the protected area. Read the second line of the handouts/solutions
link before the title of section B1 or C1 for example. Posting this
information elsewhere is ILLEGAL.
PA 2,3 DeadlineChange PA2 is due March 1 and PA3 is due March 8.
