Teaching

Teaching Overview

Dr. Bandelt has experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in structural engineering, mechanics, and materials. Dr. Bandelt currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in reinforced concrete behavior and design. Undergraduate students enrolled in this course (CE 333) will become acquainted with properties of concrete and steel materials, and how they interact in reinforced concrete structures. Further, students will learn to design reinforced concrete structural components such as beams, columns, and slabs. Graduate students enrolled in the graduate course (CE 631) will be exposed to topics related to section ductility, torsion, slender columns, two-way slabs, and strut-and-tie modeling. Dr. Bandelt is also co-organizer for the graduate seminar (CE 791) where graduate research students learn topics related to information literacy, and publishing and presenting research.
