Part 1: Variable Length Records

We will cover this further next week, so there is nothing to do for this topic now.

Part 2: Control Breaks

Read Stern and Stern chapter 10.

  1. Cover the review questions (true-false and general questions) on your own. Do not submit anything for these.
  2. Submit Programming Assignment #1. (Use an EVALUATE statement to print the day of the week.) Use the data file CH1001.dat, which came with your text and also is posted on the course Web site.  Ch1001.dat

Submission

Staple everything from Part 2 together.

Turn in: in a word file:

- a listing of your COBOL code

- a printout of your report file - use a word processor to print it.
