Part 1: Variable Length Records and Multi-record type files

Read Uckan Chapter 11.

Cover the Short Essay Questions on your own. Do not submit anything for these.

Submit Programming Exercises 1 and 2. (Not programming problems!) For #2, give three separate designs.

Part 2: File Update

Go back to Uckan Chapter 10. Submit Problem-Solving problems 6 and 7 using the two logical files shown at the start of the Problem-Solving section (i.e., the page with problem #1).

Important: For problem 6 use the new traditional file update algorithm posted on the course Web site instead of the text's algorithm. (Note that this algorithm is implemented in Chapter 11's program examples.)

You might wish to use a spreadsheet.

Submission

Staple everything together.
