A Woman in War: Exposing Secrets

McGahhey and her family would take summer vacations here every year when she was a child.

manor After basic training, McGahhey was posted to Beaumanor as a radio fingerprinter.  This photo shows one side of the manor.  Few pictures of the grounds of the manor were allowed to be taken due to the secrecy of the missions taking place there.

wedding McGahhey and her husband, an American soldier in the 82nd Airborne, right after their 1944 wedding.  Their nuptials had to be approved by British Intelligence, due to McGahhey's position in the Army.
