Selection of the Radiation Computation Package PreviousNext
GX Simulator > Creating Emissions Maps >

GX_Simulator is already equipped with a set of methods that solve the radiation transfer equation along the line of sight of the model for microwave and X-ray wavelength ranges.
These built in routines are located in the distribution folder in the .\userslib\radio and .\userslib.\xray directories.

The default Rendering Method may be replaced using a file dialog that can be launched from the Rendering Method page located on the SCANNERtab page.

At the time of this selection, the LOS parameters needed to be sent to the selected Rendering Method are published in its associated parameter table.

The user should keep in mind that this table represents just a data template displayed just for information purposes, while the actual values of the LOS parameters sent to the Rendering methods, are those resulted from LOS scanning of the global model's properties, generally without updating the values displayed in the tables, except for the image pixel array dS,  and the line of sight step, dr, which are updated every time a new FOV is computed.

However, some global Rendering Method parameters, which are independent of the line of sight, such as the number of channels, and desired channel range, may be directly edited by the user in the parameter table before computing a new imaging data cube.
