Cancer Innovation REU

Program Overview

The Undergraduate Research and Innovation Experience in Cancer Diagnosis and Therapeutic Intervention at the New Jersey Institute of Technology is a transformative summer research experience for undergraduates. This intensive 10-week program focuses on research, education, and training activities specifically designed for students from underrepresented minority groups, including African Americans, LatinX, women, students with disabilities, and first-generation college students.

During this comprehensive program, domestic student participants will be immersed in cutting-edge research focused on cancer diagnosis, therapeutics, and mechanistic modeling. Participants receive a $6,000 stipend, on-campus housing and meals, and compensation for travel expenses to and from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Eligibility Requirements

We seek motivated undergraduate students who meet our eligibility criteria and are passionate about cancer research. Eligible applicants must be committed to full-time participation and academic excellence.

US citizen or permanent resident

Academic Standing

Minimum 3.3 GPA (out of 4.0)

Academic Level

Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior

Major Fields

Chemical Engineering, Math, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields

Time Commitment

40 hours per week on campus for 10 weeks
