Durga Misra

   Durga Misra has received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees both in Electrical Engineering from University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada in 1985 and 1988 respectively. He joined New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in September 1988 where he is now an Associate Professor in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. In 1996 he served as the Director of Microelectronics Research Center at NJIT. In 1997 he was on a research leave at the VLSI Research Department of Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies at Murray Hill, New Jersey. He also served as a consultant to Sarnoff Corporation in Princeton, New Jersey. His general interests lie in the areas of microelectronic and optoelectronic devices and analog and digital circuit design. He has worked on CMOS and BiCMOS Integrated Magnetic Field Sensors and various other sensors. His current research interests include low power devices and circuits, and process induced damage in deep submicron CMOS devices. He has published more that 100 technical articles in International Conferences and Journals in Circuits and Devices area. He received many research awards from the National Science Foundation and Industry.

   Dr. Misra introduced graduate program in analog and digital VLSI design at NJIT. He also served as lecturer of many short courses on "VLSI design using VHDL" to industry, other universities and continuing professional education. He serves as a vice-chair representing the Circuit & Systems Society and Electron Device Society at the North Jersey Section of the IEEE. He is the Program Chair of the 2000 International Conference on Information Technology. He is a senior member of IEEE, and a member of the Electrochemical Society, SPIE, and Sigma Xi.
