Dr. Leonid Tsybeskov

Overview  

     Dr. Tsybeskov joined the Department of Electrical and Computer engineering in 2001 as an associate professor.  He has a sustained record of excellence in scholarly research in the field of nanostructures. His research is focused on novel materials and structures that promise breakthroughs in the technology of electronic and optical devices based on quantum effects.  He was recently elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society.  He received a Ph.D. in applied physics from Odessa State University in 1986.

Description:

    A physics book that covers the optical properties of quantum-confined semiconductor nanostructures from both the theoretical and experimental points of view together with technological applications. Topics to be reviewed include quantum confinement effects in semiconductors, optical adsorption and emission properties of group IV, III-V, II-VI semiconductors, deep-etched and self assembled quantum dots, nanoclusters, and laser applications in optoelectronics.
