NJIT Wind Power Academy

Wind Power Academy

The NJIT Wind Power Academy serves a multifaceted mission encompassing research, education, workforce training, and community engagement. In the realm of research, our distinguished faculty collaborates within the Wind Transmission Integration Team ("WINTEGRATE"), undertaking diverse projects generously funded by entities such as the NSF, DoE, State Government, and industry partners. Our educational offerings include two graduate certificates and a specialized concentration in the master's program (Power and Energy Systems), with a strategic emphasis on advancing knowledge in offshore wind power.

Committed to cultivating skilled professionals, our annual New Jersey Offshore Wind Bootcamp Training and Career Exhibition provides an immersive experience in workforce training. Simultaneously, our dedication to community engagement is exemplified through the annual New Jersey Offshore Wind Technology Conference, a platform that facilitates dialogue and knowledge exchange.

Goals

In a broader context, the establishment of an international advisory board and an offshore wind consortium marks our proactive efforts to foster an interconnected ecosystem, uniting industry, government, and academia in the pursuit of offshore wind excellence. This strategic collaboration seeks to create a dynamic synergy that propels advancements in offshore wind technology and practices.

The Academy endeavors to develop a robust communication strategy to share the accomplishments, events, and opportunities we offer. We will utilize various channels, including social media, press releases, and newsletters, to reach a broader audience. This proactive approach aims to keep stakeholders, industry partners, students, and the public informed about our initiatives, fostering a sense of engagement and collaboration. Through these communication channels, we aim to amplify the impact of our research, educational programs, and community events, contributing to the broader discourse on offshore wind power.
