Gender Equity
Throughout the 1990’s much research has focused on gender bias directed against
girls. However, recent studies show that boys and girls are both victims of gender
bias. Current understanding of physiologic psychiatry believes that the male and
female brains process information in different ways. This leads each sex to having
advantages and disadvantages over the other. What is important to stress is that
school must provide equal access to all students and insure that curriculum and
career choices are both technically and socially acceptable to boys and girls.
