Diversity Matters: Introduction

Summary

In summary, diversity matters. When we are aware that we are more alike than different, then we can grow as educators. When we reach out to a person who doesn’t look like us, or talk like us, or perhaps even learn like us, we celebrate our own uniqueness. Every child in the United States is entitled to a free and appropriate education. The success of our educational system, and the success of future generations depends on the full participation of all of our children.
